Hello all, I have now completed my third creation in my LEGO journey, a Sony Walkman TPS-L2. This model of Walkman was famous for its appearance in the Guardian's of the Galaxy movies, perfectly representing the retro aesthetic of the 80's, although this Walkman originally rose to fame as the first of its kind, a portable music player.
I have a great love for cassette players, not stemming from their audio quality (which is not great), but from their ingenuity and overall practical-ness, which at the time was ground breaking. This build ended up being one of the toughest as I still wanted to capture the smaller details without sacrificing scale, and I would like to think its near perfect. The main shape is to scale with features such as the cassette, headphone ports and hinging door all being interactable, the headphones themselves should be wearable so you can relive the 80's nostalgia in a LEGO form!
Overall I'm very proud with how this project has turned out, it was a real test on what I've learnt over the past two LEGO models I've designed, I've real enjoyed working with the LEGO system as it's been nice to take a brake from conventional 3D modelling and it's safe to say this wont be my last LEGO design!
Thank you all for reading
